Spring and fall tend to be the busiest seasons for contractors and permitting offices alike, which means longer lead times for scheduling and approvals. If your project depends on outdoor work like an addition or exterior tie-in, these seasons also offer the most workable weather.
Summer brings its own scheduling considerations, especially around family travel and school schedules, which matter if you're planning to live in the home during construction.
Winter is often the most underrated time to start planning, even if construction itself begins later. Design, material selection, and permitting can move forward during the colder months, which means a project planned over the winter is often ready to break ground as soon as spring weather cooperates, without losing that season to paperwork.
